Description
This Careers Class Project-Based Learning (PBL) activity is a great discovery activity for students to do career research in a fun and engaging way. CAREER STREET is an excellent way to get students to think like business owners and make the connection between Careers and Entrepreneurship while doing career research (a concept listed in the National Business Education Association (NBEA) standards).
This resource could be used in any Career Exploration/Research class or any business class.
**The file includes step-by-step instructions and a video tutorial to help complete the project. ALL CLIP ART IS INCLUDED **
Students learn and discover the following:
- Choose a Career Cluster of Interest
- Select a Career within that Career Cluster
- List the Job Title, Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify Education, Training, and Licenses needed
- Explore and identify other Careers needed in your work environment
- Design the façade and building front using the clip-art included.
- Identify Who would your clients be? Or what people would you serve?
- What would your work hours and work schedule be?
- Assess the Want or Needs being met and who your career serves.
My students enjoyed a break from the daily grind while still learning so much about Careers and Pathways. This PBL project is an excellent opportunity to be creative and crafty in your class and have student artifacts to display in your classroom. My kids really loved it and were so proud of their projects hanging in their learning space!
I have two similar PBL projects for your other classes – Accounting class and Business Law class.
