December Resources for your High School Accounting Class

Santa’s Workshop Christmas Accounting Simulation for High School Accounting class

Engaging high school accounting class students can be a challenge after Thanksgiving break and before the much-anticipated Christmas break.  The struggle is real for me too!  So I created my own December accounting resources to incorporate festive resources and activities to captivate my students’ attention to make the connection to the real-world and to make their learning experience both enjoyable and educational.

Students complete a Financial Worksheet, Income Statement, & Balance Sheet for a SANTA’S CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP start-up!

This resource could be used as an AN ASSESSMENT OR FINAL!

Danitra is an entrepreneur who runs a Santa Shop at local elementary schools. She is asking YOUR STUDENTS to help her with her end-of-the-fiscal-period financial statements. Students are prompted to complete each statement and ANALYZE for a true assessment of student understanding!

Frankly, I usually do not get to this lesson until January after I teach financial statments, income statements, and balance sheets, but my students still appreciate the tie-in with Santa’s Workshop.

My Santa’s Workshop – Accounting Mini-Simulation is available in my web shop and my TPT Store.  Buying off my web shop provides me the maximum amount of support and I so appreciate it.

Santa’s Chart of Accounts for High School Accounting class

This digital activity is a perfect way to review CHART OF ACCOUNTS for any high school accounting class (Accounting 1 or Accounting 2).

Students classify accounts as assets, liabilities, and owner’s equity. After they classify, they create a Chart of Accounts for Santa Claus.  An example of a Chart of Accounts is given for students to reference as it may have been a while since they saw a Chart of Accounts.

This resource is ENGAGING, DIFFERENT, AND FUN!  Students use their critical thinking skills.

The resource includes a teacher’s key and grading suggestions.

My Santa’s Chart of Accounts is available in my web shop and my TPT Store.

Buying off my web shop provides me the maximum amount of support and I so appreciate it.
