Family and Consumer Science Final Project – Startup Food Truck/Restaurant Project (FCS)

Family and Consumer Science (FCS) students act as entrepreneurs for a Simple Startup Food Truck or Restaurant. There are actually TWO project files in this resource – the Food Truck file is separate from the Restaurant file. This is a REAL-WORLD PROJECT that is project-based learning (PBL) at its best! NO PREP! Just send it easily through your LMS to all of your students!

Student Competencies:

• Entrepreneurial Profile
• Create and design a façade for a business (this file is chocked full of tons of clip art for students to use for their design)
• Business Briefing
• Supplies Inventory (for food truck, kitchen, and/or restaurant)
• Equipment Inventory (for food truck, kitchen, and/or restaurant)
• Create a Menu
• Design a Signature Meal
• Create a Grocery List
• Calculate total start-up costs for this food venture

Students create/design their very own simple startup food truck or restaurant. FCS students make their own entrepreneurial decisions. I embedded hints, tips, and content in the file to help your students through their entrepreneurial journey to ensure their success. Students ‘shop’ for supplies and equipment for their new business while staying within a budget. It can be used as an assessment as a rubric is included. I also included an ▶️ instructional video for the teacher to help in implementing this project.

Prepare to take your FCS students on an Entrepreneurial Journey where they use their critical thinking skills and tap into their creative side in your FCS class. These are beautiful displays of educational achievement if you choose to print them out and hang them in your classroom. Instructions are included as to how I printed them out.
